To
present innovative, first-rate professional theatrical productions,
festivals, special events and education programs for the enrichment,
entertainment, and education of the region's residents and visitors.
Rubicon’s Goals Include:
ARTISTIC
- To provide our region’s residents with intellectually stimulating, emotionally powerful theater.
- To mount professional productions which celebrate the human spirit through the power of language and the art of storytelling.

To present provocative plays which illuminate issues of relevance to
our local community, and to do so with artistry and imagination.

To provide a nurturing environment for the development of new works,
thereby drawing regional and national attention to the City and County
of Ventura.
- To develop a core acting ensemble, working toward a common artistic vision.
- To create and sustain an International Theatre Festival, bringing lively productions from around the world to Ventura.
- To present a balanced season of musicals, comedies and dramas selected from the following repertoires:
- American classics
- Modern American plays
- Plays by minority playwrights
- Classics from other cultures
- World or area premieres of new works
- New or seldom-produced musicals or musical revues
