It Takes A Village
HELP! MORE THAN ANY OTHER TIME IN OUR HISTORY, RUBICON THEATRE NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT!
We cannot stress this enough. With the current state of the economy, many individuals and companies who have given large monetary gifts over the years have been affected financially and are unable to support Rubicon at the same level they have in the past. As a non-profit professional theatre in an intimate house, ticket prices at Rubicon cover less than half of what our shows actually cost to produce. If we charged full price, a $49 ticket would cost more than $100. Raising the difference is especially difficult this year. Although our ticket sales flourish, donations from major contributors have fallen substantially. Foundation and government giving is down significantly as well.
We know the future holds great promise. In the spirit of our recent production of Fiddler on the Roof, we turn to our village of Ventura and beyond to solve the current challenge.
That's why we have launched this campaign to raise $1 million through a gift we can all afford: $365. For just $1 a day, you can ensure that Rubicon Theatre will continue to produce the wonderful shows like Fiddler that you have enjoyed for the past eleven years. If we each give up an occasional latte or a half a tank of gas now and again, we can do this!
We need 2,400 gifts to achieve our goal, and we need them NOW. We can - we must - do this TOGETHER. If not us, then who? If not you, then who?
This is chance to remind ourselves and each other that live theatre matters. It positively impacts our economy, the quality of life in our community, and the educational opportunities of our children. Live theatre lifts our spirits and enriches our lives in myriad ways.
